Fenner sees his life flash before his eyes as Yvonne’s hit-man makes his move. Thanks to Colin’s tip off, Fenner is on his guard and within seconds of seeing the gun, has kicked the front door shut and hit the deck. Back on G-Wing, Yvonne, who has no idea that her hit against Fenner has failed, celebrates Denny’s impending transfer to Whitecross Open. Denny is all for asking to stay at Larkhall, but Yvonne convinces her otherwise—she’s hasn’t got that much longer left to serve and once she’s out, they’ll be able to live together as a proper family.

Selena is furious when she discovers that Kris had no intention of asking Milly to speak to her solicitor and own up to the crime that her sister is serving a life sentence for. Selena pressures Kris to tell the truth, but she is determined to protect her sister and take the blame. Then there’s the escape plan—Selena can’t see the point in them spending the rest of their lives on the run when there is a legitimate way to get Kris out of Larkhall. Unable to cope, Selena gives Kris an ultimatum—either she persuades Milly to tell the truth, or she will resign from the Prison Service.

Having already heard the bad news from Lauren, Yvonne is prepared to see Fenner return to G-Wing. She is unsure of his reaction however and is extremely relieved when he turns up in her cell and rather sheepishly asks her if they can call a truce. Yvonne agrees—as long as Fenner stays out of her way, she’ll stay out of his. But rather than reconciliation, all Fenner really has on his mind is revenge—he’s already tried to talk Colin into assisting him to help Yvonne ‘commit suicide’.

Colin goes to Yvonne and warns her that Fenner plans to kill her after Barbara’s wedding. The only thing left for Yvonne to do is run, and the only way for her to do it is by going along with Kris’ plan. After speaking with Kris, she blackmails Colin into hiding a set of keys in the toilet and removing the metal grid at the end of the tunnel. But there’s a problem when Fenner decides to teach Kris a lesson. He’s heard that Selena has decided to resign and, holding Kris responsible, he viciously kicks her in the knee and then presses the panic button. When reinforcements arrive, Fenner calmly informs them that Kris attacked him before they cart her off down the block.

Yvonne now knows that she’s on her own. She interrupts Barbara’s nervous preparations and asks her to provide a distraction during the wedding reception—Fenner will kill her unless she escapes first. Barbara agrees to do all that she can. Down on the block, Selena is appalled when she sees Kris’ bruised and swollen knee. There’s no way that she can leave Kris locked up in Larkhall with Fenner now. Selena agrees to stay on as a PO until Kris is able to escape…as long as Yvonne manages to get away without blowing their route out of Larkhall that is.

Julie S is suffering as a result of her chemotherapy and, in spite of Julie J’s best efforst, no one can lift her spirits. Unable to cope with the pain and her phobia of needles, she makes a drastic decision about her future treatment. Julie J tries to talk her round, but Julie S is adamant—she wants to join whatever time she has left and, if it comes to it, she wants Julie S to help her die with dignity.

The moment of Henry and Barbara’s wedding arrives, but Barbara’s happiness is short-lived—firstly, all of Henry’s family are missing and, when the female vicar asks if anyone objects to the marriage, his brother, Clive, steps forward and makes his feelings for Barbara very clear. Henry is furious when Clive calls Barbara a murderer and asks Di to escort him from the prison. Finally, the ceremony gets under way and the whole wing looks on as the happy couple share their first kiss as man and wife. Fenner meanwhile has noticed that Colin is missing and tracks him down to the works corridor. After finding a syringe and a wrap of heroin, Fenner blackmails him for information about Yvonne. Now aware of the impending break out, Fenner bides his time.

After saying her goodbyes, Yvonne makes her move—she slips into the cavernous depths of the prison unaware that Fenner is not far behind, intent on sorting her out once and for all. As Yvonne unlocks the door that leads out of the hanging cell, she drops Colin’s keys. As she bends down to retrieve them, Fenner slams the door shut and locks it. Yvonne turns and realises that the corridor ahead has been bricked off…she’s trapped! As the rest of G-Wing light swingers and chant Yvonne’s name, down in the cellar, Yvonne’s torch batteries finally run out. The light flickers off, plunging her into solitary, claustrophobic darkness.

Memorable Moments

Al – “You’re getting shipped out to ‘Butlin’s’ for that pile of crap? I could paint better with my arse!”

Bev – “Steady on the tonic Phyl…rations!”
Phyl – “It’s bloody flat anyway. Oooh…for some ice and a dash of bitters!”
Bev – “Well now you’re just being maudlin.”
Phyl – “Well why shouldn’t I be? The lovely Oliver turns up and reminds me that all my bits and pieces still work and here I am banged up on lesbian row!”

Phyl – “Ah, our very own houseboy.”
Hollamby – “Button it Oswyn!”

Fenner – “Thanks for the pizza.”
Yvonne – “Glad you enjoyed it.”
Fenner – “Not my favourite…but it’s the thought that counts.”
Yvonne – “Well that was just the vegetarian, next time it’ll be American hot.”

Bev – “Being in a high security prison, that is part of your brand.”
Denny – “My brand?”
Bev – “They can’t force you out, not if you kick up a stink. Get yourself sent down the block.”
Yvonne – “The only one going down the block will be me…for smashing your blood-sucking heads together. The sooner Denny’s away from you two tricksters the better.”
Phyl – “Listen…there’s not much time, there’s a cut in it for you if that’s what it takes.”
Yvonne – “You say one more word to my girl and I’ll have you knee-capped.”

Hollamby – “I always knew there was more to you Denny Blood.”
Denny – “She been sniffing the bog-cleaner again?”
Hollamby – “I hope it won’t embarrass you if I ask for a little memento to remind me of how much you’ve grown. One of your paintings maybe, I could hang it in my flat.”
Denny – “You can hang it up your arse Bodybag, you ain’t getting shit from me. Shell should’ve finished you off when she had the chance mate.”

Kris – “All due respect Mr Fenner Sir, if you’re looking for a blow-job, you got the wrong con…I’ll bite it off!”
Fenner – “No kidding? I’d rather shag my own leg if it’s all the same to you.”
Kris – “Well frig off then!”

Barbara – “Where are all Henry’s people?”
Di – “I don’t know Barbara. Sylv, where’s the other guests?”
Hollamby – “All that’s coming are here.”
Yvonne – “Sod ‘em Babs. It’s Henry you want, not a load of chicken-shits.”

Yvonne – “I need you to do one last thing for me Babs. Call my Lauren and tell her that I’m lying low for a while and not to worry.”

Fenner – “Bye bye Atkins. Don’t bother screaming, you might want to save on the oxygen.”
