Nathan's closely shaved head tilts to one side, "Josh is a nice guy. He's a pleasure to play. Really a pleasure to play.

"He's happy to go to work with his big boots and overalls on, doing a long days work of hard graft. He just wants to earn a bit of money and have a nice girlfriend… and he's completely head over heels with a girl that he has never even kissed!"

Last series Nathan's character, Josh Mitchell became engaged to ex-inmate Crystal Gordon who will be returning later on in series three of Bad Girls. "Josh is hopeful. Proposed to her, engaged to her but never kissed her. He has got to be completely in love or very, very sad. I think he has been hurt - that's my own theory!"

Nathan is delighted to see his character being developed in series three of Bad Girls. "It's great, when I filmed my last scene in series two - I had stormed out on Crystal - I thought that that was it. It had been a good job and I'd met some really nice people. But now Josh is to become a trainee Prison Officer - and guess where he'll be doing his training?! The whole idea of becoming a Prison Officer to him is something that was beyond his wildest dreams - to have a proper career and everything that goes with that."

Nathan has a laugh with his co-stars even though they are mostly women! "Sometimes in the Green Room, you come in and it's all women completely and utterly everywhere. Sometimes I think it's ladies talking to ladies and I shouldn't be part of the conversation! I'm more mothered than flirted with, as at twenty-one I'm the baby on the team really!"
