TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER.
Rhiannon is the daughter of Julie J. She’s only sixteen but she’s been through some very tough times – her mum being sent to prison, getting involved in prostitution and drugs, and having an abusive boyfriend / pimp. She first arrives in Larkhall for a 16-day sentence for shoplifting, but she and Damian take the Two Julies to court, with Rhiannon having to take the stand against her own mother.
WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING IN BAD GIRLS?
Working with a great cast and crew – but the very best thing is having someone as great as Kika Mirylees playing your Mum.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?
Despite Rhiannon’s tough exterior, underneath she’s extremely vulnerable and easily-led. But we see a change in Rhiannon for the better, and that change is probably the best thing about her. She’s finally seeing the error of her ways, and also that Julie J really does love her.
WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?
Well, she’s not a bad person, but she does bad things – usually because of other people influencing her. She’s naïve in the sense that she can’t see through people, but she does know how to get her way with men. Also, Julie J has let her down in the past, but nobody should ever speak to their mother the way Rhiannon does.
DO YOU LIKE THE COSTUMES THAT YOUR CHARACTER WEARS? WOULD YOU WEAR THEM?
No! Never! She wears far too much gold chunky jewellery, her skirts are a bit short, and there’s way too much blue eyeshadow.
HOW HAVE YOUR FRIENDS / FAMILY REACTED TO YOU BEING CAST IN BAD GIRLS?
They’re all very excited. But I think my Nan and Grandad will be a bit shocked! I’m not sure if I should tell them when it’s on or not!
ARE YOU LIKE YOUR CHARACTER? ARE THERE ANY TRAITS THAT YOU SHARE?
Not really. Rhiannon’s much wilder than me and she really does need help in her life. I always worked hard at school for my career, whereas Rhiannon really doesn’t have a positive future ahead of her if she carries on the way she is now.
WHAT SCENE HAVE YOU MOST ENJOYED OR HATED FILMING SO FAR?
The worst scenes were definitely the ones that involved being outside, on location, in January, wearing such a short skirt and not a lot else – it was absolutely freezing.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW EXTERIOR?
I think it’s really impressive. I saw Oxford prison when I was in series 2, and from what I can remember this is much much better! Bad Girls has such great sets – I was really impressed by them.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREETIME?
Lots of things. I’ve just started going back to the gym. I love going for lunch then seeing a movie with a friend and then to a club or a party for the evening – the perfect day and night! I read a lot – a huge variety of books. And I’m also being a compulsive shopaholic. I won’t shop that often, but when I do, I really go for it.
HOW WOULD YOU GET ON WITH YOUR CHARACTER IF YOU MET THEM IN REAL LIFE?
Well, I’d probably take her for a coffee and help her try to get her life back on track. I’d try to make her see that she doesn’t need to be so awful to her mum – and most importantly, get her to ditch the horrible Damian!
WHAT’S THE WORST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE?
While on holiday in Florida last year, I was at one of the theme parks and finally I plucked up the courage to go on the scariest rollercoaster I’d ever seen in my life. Just as we were all strapped in, I had a panic attack and screamed for them to let me off. They did, but the ride was delayed for about half an hour - with everyone else stuck on it. My sister was completely humiliated, and I was getting some very funny looks. And then I ended going on the ride after all – with the cute guy who’d let me off!
WHAT’S THE BEST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE?
I think the best thing a person can do is be polite in their every day life. It doesn’t hurt to be nice and a friendly face can really help someone’s day. I’ve been brought up to be respectful of others and to have good manners. Lots of small good deeds throughout your life are better than doing one big good deed and then being horrible the rest of the time.
