It’s the first day of the tribunal and Neil faces the music as Fenner provides damning evidence of his sexual misconduct. As well as revealing that Neil interfered with his career by appointing a series of female Wing Governors above him, Fenner insists that the sexual harassment he suffered was the major contributing factor in his mental breakdown. Di’s evidence is also damaging to Neil’s case, especially when she informs the panel that Neil promoted her to Wing Governor in exchange for the baby she was carrying. Hollamby hammers what appear to be the final nails in Neil’s coffin when she accuses him of driving her late husband, Bobby to suicide by refusing to give him a job because of his age.

Selena prepares to leave Larkhall in order to attend the Intensive Development Course. Kris is devastated when Selena refuses to acknowledge her apologies and threatens to drop her appeal—she would rather stay locked up inside than be alone on the outside. Later, Kris encounters Natalie in the laundry room and, in no mood to listen to her pleas of remorse, tells her to get lost. Natalie tries to force Kris into a kiss but is violently thrown across the room when she refuses to take no for an answer.

Although the future looks bleak, Neil remains calm and concentrates on trying to persuade Karen to help him in his battle with Fenner. Broke, unemployed, and facing a very long prison sentence, Karen has hit rock-bottom. She is convinced that Fenner set her up and even suspects him of having some involvement in Yvonne’s death. Neil promises to do all that he can to prove Karen’s innocence if she will help him to nail Fenner.

Natalie is rushed down to the hospital wing where she uses her wiles to convince Dr Nicholson that her injuries are a lot worse than they appear. She has also decided to press charges against Kris. One thing she doesn’t count on is the fact that Frances continually refuses to believe a word she says. Frances confronts Dr Nicholson who is forced to admit that he had been manipulated by Natalie into overstating the seriousness of her injuries. Natalie is outraged when she is dragged out of her comfortable hospital bed and sent down the block. In revenge, she blurts out the truth about Kris and Selena’s affair to anyone who will listen.

Neil meets with Rob Skelton, a private investigator who has been recommended by Frances. As an ex-police detective, Rob has plenty of contacts and has utilised them to gain access to Karen’s car. Rob has discovered that the driver’s seat was pushed right back, possibly to allow someone who was over six-feet tall to drive it. Upon hearing that Karen is nowhere near that height, Rob becomes optimistic about his chances of proving her innocence.

The G-Wing rumour mill spins into action with the news that Kris and Selena are having an affair. The fact that Frances believes Kris and Selena’s denials without question is concerning Neil. He believes that Frances is still using her personal dislike of Natalie to cloud her professional judgement and orders her to place both Kris and Natalie on cellular confinement until further notice. Predictably, Fenner has chosen to believe Natalie’s version of events and, acting under her instructions, goes to the local records office in order to consult the electoral register. Just as Natalie predicted, Kris and Selena are listed as living at the same address. Fenner steals the relevant page and then faxes it to Frances’ office.

Memorable Moments

Kris – “There is nothing going on between me and Geeson and never has been.”
Natalie – “I believe you.”
Kris – “Yeah? Well the reason I got shot of you is because you’re a screwed up, manipulative bitch…no other reason.”

Selena – “Your battered victim act might wash with Dr Nicholson but don’t think for one second that you’re fooling me.”
Natalie – “You really need to work on your sympathetic tone, ‘cause if it was Yates in this state you’d be kissing her better.”

Hollamby – “Been hearing rumours about you.”
Selena – “What?”
Hollamby – “Buxton. She reckons that you and Yates are…you know…lesbians.”
Selena – “Kris Yates? Phyl Oswyn’s more my type, I like a bit of posh.”

Di – “My life would be in ruins if it wasn’t for Jim.”
Frances – “If there’s one thing I’ve learnt it’s this – you don’t rely on anyone to make your life for you.”
Di – “Excuse me Frances, but I think Jim relies on me.”
Frances – “Does that explain the mad rush to get him down the aisle?”
Di – “Sounds like you’re jealous of our happiness.”
Frances – “As long as that’s all it is Di, not obsession.”

Neil – “Please, just hear me out.”
Karen – “Leave me alone!”
Neil – “What can I do to make it up to you?”
Karen – “What, put me in a cushy cell on the threes when I’m sent to Larkhall?”
Neil – “Fenner’s got me by the balls; you’re the only one that can help.”
Karen – “How did I know he was involved? What’s he done to you Neil, framed you for murder too?”

Julie J – “I dunno, he’s not my type, I like the more sophisticated type.”
Tina – “There ain’t nothing sophisticated about what I want to do to him.”
