Virginia O’Kane is dead and in the eyes of the police, Yvonne makes the perfect prime suspect. Fenner is revelling in Yvonne’s downfall and is quick to tell the police that he heard her arguing with Virginia in the bathroom before her death. The discovery of Virginia’s client-list in Yvonne’s cell is yet another piece of evidence that ties her to the murder and things begin to look very grim indeed. When she is returned to G-Wing, Yvonne is dismayed when Tina confronts her. Fenner is delighted with this turn of events and makes a point of gloating about his own alibi. Yvonne begins to realise that if Fenner didn’t murder Virginia, chances are that he got someone else to do his dirty work for him – Maxi and Al.

Although Crystal has tried to pass of her pregnancy as an immaculate conception, Josh feels the time has come to face up to his responsibilities, even if it means sacrificing his career. Karen is upset at the thought of losing such a good officer, but she has bigger things to worry about. Yvonne has made some serious allegations, accusing Fenner of setting her up for Virginia’s murder and for raking in tons of money by helping the deceased to run her brothels. Karen can’t help but look down at the huge engagement ring on her finger – how did her fiancé manage to afford it on a PO’s wage.

Acting on Yvonne’s instructions, the Julies break into Fenner’s locker and discover a porn mag and a pair of Maxi’s knickers. Although she’s disappointed that the Julies didn’t find anything to connect Fenner with Virginia’s brothels, she decides to make the best of what she’s got and arranges for the items to be posted to Karen in the internal mail.

Karen finally manages to read Helen’s statement of sexual assault against Fenner and then confronts him. His counter accusations that Helen was having an affair with Nikki Wade are too ridiculous for her to believe, and she’s even beginning to wonder about the circumstances surrounding Virginia’s death – why would Yvonne be so sure that he had set her up? She also insists on going through his bank statements but doesn’t find any evidence of his misdeeds. Angered by her lack of trust, Fenner storms out.

When she hears that Josh had tendered his resignation, Yvonne offers him £20,000 to turn off the electrical trip-switch and plunge all of G-Wing into darkness. As the lights go off, the Julies pretend to panic and grab hold of Hollamby, enabling Yvonne to steal her keys. During the ensuing confusion and mayhem, Yvonne makes her escape through the darkened corridors. Out in the yard, she spots Fenner and takes cover between two parked cars as she waits for him to leave.

Yvonne’s plan backfires when Karen arrives with the porn mag and knickers she has just received in the internal mail. During the argument that follows, Karen throws her engagement ring at Fenner and storms off, just as a rope ladder is thrown over the wall. Yvonne is left with no option but to make a break for it, but as she runs across the yard and jumps up onto the ladder, she is spotted.
