Fenner is desperate to make it up with Di. He knows that she could send him straight back to jail and so blames his recent behaviour – and his impotence – on the trauma he suffered when he was raped in prison. Di crumbles and makes him promise that he’ll speak to a counsellor. Fenner agrees to ask Dr Nicholson for a referral, but rather than asking to be placed in contact with a psychiatrist, he asks for the name of someone who can perform a vasectomy.

Phyl and Bev are working on a new scam. To her great distaste, Bev has drawn the short straw and has to flutter her eyelashes at Frank, the baker’s delivery man in exchange for free cream cakes. With Bev buttering up Frank, Phyl recruits Denise, a red-band who works in the PO’s club. Her piggy eyes light up when Phyl shows her a box of cream doughnuts and before long, she’s sneaking them bottles of gin in exchange for as many cakes as Bev can sweet-talk out of a besotted Frank.

Desperate for a way to get back into Natalie’s good books, Janine steals Arun’s crucifix and a bag of her pills. She gives her booty to Natalie and tells her that Arun plans to grass on her. Natalie is flying high, she’s ruling the roost on G-Wing and it seems that everyone is in her debt. She has even scored a cushy job working in the library which serves as the perfect place to make sure that Fenner’s needs are attended to. The library is also the perfect place to settle scores and before long, naïve Arun is walking into a violent trap. Natalie and Janine have stuffed bars of soap into a sock and use their weapon to beat her to a pulp.

Fenner has got his revenge on the Julies. Instead of being given a dedicated room, they’re going to have to put up with running their hair and beauty salon from their already cramped cell. Julie S is quickly discouraged, but when she sees Fenner’s smug face she is filled with a new sense of purpose – she’ll make the salon a success just to spite him.

Di suspects that Natalie has beaten Arun up, but the inmate refuses to report it to Fenner. Natalie is quick to pick up on the vibes and decides to put the wind up Di by letting it be known that she and Fenner are having an affair. Di responds by going completely mental and slaps Natalie in front of the whole wing. Fenner has no choice but to suspend Di for hitting Natalie – he can’t have Area accusing him of nepotism. Natalie is full of plans to contact her solicitor and press charges, but she soon changes her mind when Fenner offers her the chance of a weekend visit in exchange for her dropping her accusations.

Dr Nicholson is still fawning over Hollamby, full of utter devotion after a night of passion. He thinks that all of his dreams have come true when Hollamby takes him to see her inherited mansion. At Hollamby’s request, he brings in an antiques valuing friend to make sure that she will get the best deal for all of the ‘clutter’ she’s desperate to get rid of. Probably a good deal richer, Nicholson makes a beeline for the nearest jewellers and buys the cheapest engagement ring he can find. Stunned and starry-eyed, Hollamby accepts his proposal at once.
