Fenner is about to get the all clear to resume marital relations after his vasectomy, and to say that Di is raring to go would be an understatement. To crown what is quickly turning into the day from hell, he arrives on the wing to find that Neil has drafted in a PO from D-Wing he doesn’t like, Kevin Spiers. With Colin on suspension pending a police investigation, G-Wing is desperately short staffed. Neil has also decided that now she’s resumed her hormone treatment, Arun should be returned to the wing.
Pat is off the hook for attempted murder and arrives back on G-Wing to receive a warm welcome from the women. Natalie and Janine are both fuming to see the return of this popular inmate, especially when she steps in to protect Arun from their bullying. Sensing that the wing is a powder keg ready to blow, Spiers steps in to stir the mix and gathers a group of inmates together. He gives them each a notebook and asks them to spend the next few days recording their thoughts and concerns, making it clear that he is also uncomfortable with the idea of Arun’s presence on the wing.
Di decides to follow Fenner to his appointment with his counsellor and is confused when she sees him entering the urology department of the local hospital. Fenner is left with no choice but to devastate his broody wife with news of his non-existent sperm count. Di is nothing if not resourceful and bounces back from his setback by making an appointment at an adoption agency. It looks like Fenner is trapped, but during the interview, his revelations about the dangerous nature of his work ensure that he and Di won’t be approved as prospective parents.
Neil feels that he has no option but to transfer Arun to a male prison. Arun is suicidal. How can she go on? Pat is furious that Natalie’s taunts and scheming have driven Arun so low and steps in to defend her. She rescinds her earlier refusal to fight Natalie and takes her up on her challenge, but under one condition – if she wins, Arun stays. The fight takes place in the gym with the two Julies acting as referees. Although it’s a close-run thing, Natalie is the one who is left bloody, battered, and out for the count.
Ex drug-addict and MBU inmate Sheena Williams is dreading the prospect of handing her baby son, Dylan over to Social Services. After listening to Sheena’s tragic tale, Di steps in with a caring solution, offering to look after Dylan herself until the inmate’s release. Although Sheena clearly has reservations, she’s stuck between a rock and a hard place and feels that she has no option but to hand her baby over to Di. But how will Fenner react when he hears about the baby his wife has arranged to bring home?
Having conceded the position of top-dog to Pat, Natalie rather sheepishly offers the olive branch. Pat is suspicious, and rightly so, because Natalie doesn’t waste any time in suggesting that they join forces, even going so far as trying to kiss her in order to sweeten the deal. Pat’s too smart to fall for a move like that and ejects Natalie from her cell. Unable to stand the humiliation, Natalie vows that she will kill Pat and informs a shocked Janine that she’ll be helping her to do it.
