Fenner can’t believe that Di has ‘borrowed’ baby Dylan from one of the inmates and makes it clear that if Di brings him home, it will be over his dead body. Di finally reveals the extent of the leverage she has against him and before long, Dylan is in situ. Fenner doesn’t even notice that Di hasn’t got the first idea about how to look after a baby; he’s too preoccupied with finding out what she has done with all of the damning evidence from the lock-up. He can’t afford any of it to fall into the wrong hands.
Pat forces the diary-keeping inmates to write letters of apology to Neil. But, as Arun quickly realises, this new turn of events hasn’t altered anyone’s perception of her and so she asks to be moved out of the dorm and into a cell of her own. With no free cells and no one volunteering to bunk-up, it looks like she could end up being shipped out after all. Despite Natalie’s jibes, Pat offers to bunk-up with Arun. It is only natural that Arun should take a shine to her champion and saviour, but could it be that she’s mistaking Pat’s generosity for something else entirely?
Natalie has had enough of G-Wing now that Pat is ruling the roost and returns to her plans for escape during her upcoming outside visit. Following in Snowball Merriman’s footsteps, she has discovered that the Inter Library Loan Scheme is ripe for exploitation and arranges for a map to be smuggled to her. Spiers walks in just as Natalie is showing Janine the map. Although Janine claims that she needs the map for research into a novel she’s writing, Spiers isn’t stupid enough to fall for it and takes the map straight to Neil.
The Julies are upset when Neil decides to close their salon and give them their old jobs back. Tina is made-up, and with Phyl and Bev down the block, she takes the opportunity to muscle in on their scam with Frank. Meanwhile, Janine is struggling with the novel she has been stuck with writing and accepts some creative input from Darlene who has very firm ideas on where the story should be set and who it should be about. Desperately short of ideas herself, Janine agrees to Darlene’s suggestion that they should co-author the novel.
Neil is on the verge of cancelling Natalie’s temporary license when Fenner steps in and claims that he gave the map to her himself. He then summons Natalie to his office and demands that she hand over the knickers in exchange for him smoothing things over with Neil. Natalie refuses; he’ll get the knickers when she gets her temporary license. Fenner reluctantly agrees, but only under one condition – Spiers becomes her escort.
Things start to look up for Sheena when Fenner puts her forward for electronic tagging and early release. Maybe she and Dylan will be reunited sooner than she dared hope. However, Di throws a spanner in the works by spiking Sheena’s tea with a dose of methadone. Later, Sheena is discovered drugged up and in possession and loses all chance of being reunited with her son. Di arrives home with Dylan, but her sense of triumph is short-lived when she finds Fenner waiting for her. He has ransacked the house and found exactly what he was looking for.
