TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER.
He’s cheeky, flirty, a charmer… smooth with a slightly rough edge. He’s been living abroad for a few years in Spain, and he’s spent some time in America – most likely working in the porn industry. He didn’t get on with his dad but he loves his mum, like all villains do. He seems to be indifferent towards his sister though. He can look after himself, in more ways than one, but he appears to be down on his luck – so he’s come home.

WHAT’S THE BEST THING ABOUT BEING IN BAD GIRLS?
Apart from the opportunity to appear in an award-winning series? Well the cast and crew are very friendly and helpful which makes the job even better. And also, the chance to play a bit of a naughty boy.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?
What I like most about Ritchie is that he’s a cheeky, cocky charmer with another side to him that you don’t see. I think he has the capability to be very nasty if need be. He’s no rocket scientist, but he’s not stupid, either. He’s very streetwise – a survivor.

WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE MOST ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER?
‘Nuffink, ‘e’s a luvverly bloke!’

DO YOU LIKE THE COSTUMES THAT YOUR CHARACTER WEARS? WOULD YOU WEAR THEM?
I think they’ve blown the entire clothes budget on Ritchie’s wardrobe! He’s a label man, a bit flash. We have quite different tastes as far as clothes go, but there are one or two tops I would wear.

HOW HAVE YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY REACTED TO YOU BEING CAST IN BAD GIRLS?
Very, very pleased for me, as they know how hard it is in this industry. My close friends find it a little hard to watch me in anything as they know me too well, so they usually take the piss! I phoned my mum first when I got the part, as I was on the phone to her when my agent called, then I called my girlfriend. We’d just bought a house together, so the timing was perfect!

ARE YOU LIKE YOUR CHARACTER? ARE THERE ANY TRAITS THAT YOU SHARE?
I think I might have to ask my girlfriend Kirstie to answer that one!

WHAT SCENE HAVE YOU MOST ENJOYED OR HATED FILMING SO FAR?
The scenes with my screen mum, Linda Henry, were great. She’s very good at her job and that makes you work that little bit harder. My scenes with Claire King were fun. Apart from sharing the same surname, we get on really well and we had a laugh – which was important when you consider the nature of some of the scenes we had to do!

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW EXTERIOR?
I only did one scene there, but it looks great. Wouldn’t want to get locked in there overnight, though…

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREETIME?
Lately I’ve been designing our garden and constructing some decking. It’s probably due to watching too many gardening programmes! I also enjoy cooking for Kirstie – again, probably due to too many cookery programmes on TV. Let’s hope they don’t start a series on knitting…

HOW WOULD YOU GET ON WITH YOUR CHARACTER IF YOU MET THEM IN REAL LIFE?
We’d probably lead each other astray and get very drunk.

WHAT’S THE WORST THING YOU’VE EVER DONE?
You know, I don’t think it’s printable…!

You mean apart from single-handedly navigating the globe in an open-cup mushroom? I think it would have to be saving all my money from my Saturday jobs when I was about fourteen to buy myself a motorcross bike that I’d dreamt about since I was nine.
